Domain age and registration checker
A domain registered three days ago behind privacy protection, sending you an invoice, is a different proposition from one registered in 2011. Registration date is one of the cheapest fraud signals there is, and it comes straight from the registry.

Why age is a fraud signal
Domains used for phishing and invoice fraud are typically registered days or weeks before the campaign, because a domain that has been sending mail for years has a reputation the attacker cannot fake and does not want to burn. Age does not prove anything on its own - every legitimate business was new once - but combined with an unexpected payment request it is worth pausing over.
This reads the registry, not a cached copy
The answer comes from RDAP, the protocol registries publish for exactly this, so it reflects the registry record rather than a scrape of one. RDAP replaced WHOIS with structured JSON and consistent authentication, which is why a modern check is reliable where a WHOIS parse used to be guesswork.
Questions
Why does it say no RDAP service for some domains?
Not every top-level domain runs one. Most generic TLDs do; some country-code ones do not, and for those the registry only answers legacy WHOIS.
Can I see who owns it?
Rarely. Registrant details are redacted by default under GDPR and equivalent rules, which is why the registrar and the dates are the useful part.
